Porto Greco Village 4*

As a lot of people here mentioned, rooms need a renovation. The bathroom door handle fell off after first attempt to pull it :) the hair dryer didn’t work (but it was substituted immediately with another one, acquired from a lovely receptionist), the shower head also needs to be changed, because it squirts right above the shower curtains to the floor. The walls in our apartment had squished mosquitos all over them, but were cleaned some days later. Our room, as we found out later, was situated in a very convenient point of the hotel, although our terrace had only a view of the alley with a shop near the main entrance of the hotel, but instead we could enjoy peace and quiet away from all the partying teens from Holland and Germany, that is the main thing one should consider while choosing a room – choose the view or the relaxation ;)

And now the things we loved :)

1. The location of Elmi suites I believe is the best there is in Hersonissos. It’s right in the center of everything – the main street (with just a short walk to lots of taverns, shops, bars, aqua park and the biggest night clubs “Palm beach” and “Star beach”). Right outside the hotel there are two “all inclusive” beach bars with the view to the see. From one of them you can take drinks directly to the beach. And if you’re a swimming pool kinda person, there are two swimming pools with a bar inside. But I would recommend going to many beaches around and enjoy the sea.

2. The food was excellent. Everything “all inclusive” guest could wish for. For 14 days that we stayed in, we never got bored with it. And for those who say it lacks variety, I can reply, that’s it’s just a problem of their lack of creativity of combining their food. There were three tables of cold and hot varieties, one table with fruits and deserts and one table with beverages like coffee (although it was terribly bad :)), tea and local juices. And if one should still get bored, there was one especially popular (and my favorite one) corner where a very nice chef grilled or baked for takeaway. And for haters, who complain that the chef was rude, I would like to say: mind Your own manners – if You don’t understand that there is a limit one person can takeaway at a time, then it’s Your problem, not chef’s. And between main meals different snacks were served at the pool bar. So if we stayed at the hotel, we were full all the time :)

3. The staff is the jewel of the hotel. The receptionists, the cleaning ladies, the bartenders, the waiters, the chef (chef Giorgos particularly :)) and, of course, the managers, all of them helped our vacation (honeymoon) unforgettable. They never let our smiles fade away from our faces and for that me and my wife are very grateful.

And one last thing to mention – the live music Thursdays. Every Thursday one of hotel manager’s sister comes to sing romantic classic tunes live. It’s the time when the beach bar is full of people, where one can sit around relaxed or have a romantic dance – a truly nice evening that should not be missed.
